alright i used too much dye and i dont want to kill my hair with bleach i just want to have atleast brown or dark brown heir have any ideas?

I believe that I read when it goes really dark like that you have to use two shades up to bring it one shade up. If you want it dark brown you should use light brown. Just don't do it to close to the last dye job. Its hard on your hair.

If that's the case, just wait a couple of days (after a couple hot water washes) and it will look brown!

Try using a blonde dye, but don't leave it on for the full time. You will just have to expierment with it.

Use a color remover. It will take your hair back to the color it was before you dyed it. You should be able to pick one up at the local beauty supply store. I've seen several magazine ads for them lately, but I can't remember the brand name.

Personal experience--

I died my hair a chocolate brown(I had blonde hair), about 2 months ago, the hairdresser screwed up my hair and it turned black, but as time went on, when I washed my hair it came lighter and lighter, now its a beautiful chocolate brown. I love it. Just wait a bit and the dye will slowly come off

sry but i think ull have to bleach ur hair if u really want to dye it. i dont really know ne other way for people with dark colored hair to dye theirs. but bleaching is really harmful to your hair, so i guess it depends on how much u want to dye it or if there is another way? if there is someone please tell me because i have black hair that i want to dye

however, if u go to a local salon, theyd probably know what to do, or bleach ur hair and tell u wat to do so that it wont be so bad. look at some other yahoo answers b/c there are a lot of people who had similar problems. heres an example link u could use:
