Yeah you can.. ignore all these people that are saying don't. seriously.. my hair was darkest brown a week ago, now its blonde.. and i've done this all by myself. but my hair is extremely thick and strong. i've dyed it 3 times today, 3 times yesterday and twice on saturday, and it's still pretty good condition. it's pretty easy so get your hair to a blonde shade using home dye's but to get it platinum blonde you'll need patience, and lots of it. i would concentrate on getting your hair to an 'ash blonde' shade first of all then work your way up to platinum blonde slowly. you will need to use LOADS of dyes, but it'll deffinately cost less than a few visits to the salon. It can be done. Gwen Stefani's coloring is dark naturally. You may need to use a lot of peroxide for the first bleaching, but after that all you'll have to do is touch up roots.

Noooooooooooo! You have to bleach your hair completely until it is a yellow (bright yellow!) color. Then you go over it with the shade of blonde you prefer. This is tricky, if you bleach your hair completely white no color will stick to it. This process is very harsh on your hair. Most professionals can't even do it.

I suggest you find someone who is very very experienced with color.

Bleach your hair 1st until it isnt so dark and then dye your hair the color you want it! If you just use a dye it probably will turn orange

Honestly, I wouldn't risk it. The last thing you'd want is to destroy your hair in an effort to save a few dollars. Everytime I color my hair from a box, even if its an easy shade, it never comes out just as I had envisioned...and its even worse if you're trying something as drastic as dark to blonde!

Call up a reputable salon and ask for advice and/or prices. This is the kind of thing best left to the professionals so that you get just what you are looking for.

don't do it! I am sure your hair is beautiful! People will no you dyed your hair! Then you won't look as nautrually beautiful you will look fake! I have blonde hair and now that it is getting to be winter people want to dye there hair darker. Maybe do it in the summer! But wait trust me or just don't dye it at all! It really damage your hair! yeahh sure it can be done . you might want to bleach it too. the safest way is going to a hair dresser that knows there stuff but that can be expensive . but you have to bleach it that usually damages your hair a bit though. you can always get products after to help you hair . like hair moisturizer or something. best of luck !

I really would suggest you don't dye it blonde, it will look really fake and you'll get ovbious roots very fast, so have to keep touching them up.

If you want a change meybe get a few copper highlights put through the T section to brighten your hair up and add some texture.

Also think you'll find going platinum blonde a realy big shock and you need to consider if it will suit your skintone
