If I have blond hair and my partner has dark brown hair, what colour hair is my baby likely to have?

Not possible to know without knowing the hair colour of your parents and grandparents... possibly further than that depending...

Hair colour is determined by dominant and recessive genes..

Each person has two 'alleles' or versions of each gene.

It's entirely possible that you and your partner both have recessive alleles for ginger hair- if these are both passed on to your child then it's gonna be ginger!

The way it works is that you have at least one dominant allele (in your case it's the one for blonde hair and your partner has one for dark hair). You may or may not have a different, recessive allele. If you don't, then you have a second allele the same as the first.

When eggs and sperm are made, the two alleles of each gene are seperated into different cells, so one sperm has one, another has the other... same goes for eggs. When the egg and sperm fuse, the resulting child will have one allele from each parent. From here on, it just depends on which alleles it gets from each of you and whether you both have recessive alleles or not.

It's most likely that it will have dark hair or blonde hair... it depends mainly on which allele it gets from your partner, as dark hair is dominant over light hair. If your partner has a recessive blonde, then the will be either blonde or dark haired... it's pretty much 50/50 from here. However, if your partner has two of the same allele then the child will be dark-haired.

Hope this answers your question!

If I have blond hair and my partner has dark brown hair, what colour hair is my baby likely to have?

brown or maybe mixed or blonde u never know

If I have blond hair and my partner has dark brown hair, what colour hair is my baby likely to have?

It楹搒 most likely to have dark hair. Dark is dominant.

If I have blond hair and my partner has dark brown hair, what colour hair is my baby likely to have?

Dark hair, because that is the dominant gene. There is a chance that 2 recessives get together and your baby has light hair, though.

If I have blond hair and my partner has dark brown hair, what colour hair is my baby likely to have?

Green!

If I have blond hair and my partner has dark brown hair, what colour hair is my baby likely to have?

Not really something you can predict. Depends on dominant and recesive genes.

If I have blond hair and my partner has dark brown hair, what colour hair is my baby likely to have?

brown hair is more dominant to blonde hair, which means the chances you'll have a brunette baby are 3:1.. so yes you're more likely to have a brown haired baby

If I have blond hair and my partner has dark brown hair, what colour hair is my baby likely to have?

a lot depends on your genetic makeup. Are you the product of two blonds, or are you a recessive trait that popped up? Dark Brown is usually a dominant trait, but even red can be lurking recessively.

Likely: Brown

Less likely: blond

rare, but not out of the question: red, auburn

If I have blond hair and my partner has dark brown hair, what colour hair is my baby likely to have?

Blond is recessive; so your baby probably has a 50-50% chance.

Or your baby will have blond hair while he is younger and it may change over time into a light-brown.

If I have blond hair and my partner has dark brown hair, what colour hair is my baby likely to have?

Dark hair is a dominant trait. I seen a report that even said that natural blond hair could be going extinct due to this. However, don't assume anything genes are a funny thing. My daughter has blue eyes and my husband and I both have green. You would think that she would have to have green. But if you look in our families there are lots of blue eyed peopled and our daughter got blue eyes because it is dominant over green (the least dominant eye color). It all just depends how the genes line up. Good luck and congrats.

If I have blond hair and my partner has dark brown hair, what colour hair is my baby likely to have?

Most likely will have light hair when young and it will get darker as the child grows up.

If I have blond hair and my partner has dark brown hair, what colour hair is my baby likely to have?

Yes, the brown is the dominant allele over blonde.

It is possible that your baby will be born blonde, then his hair color may change as he/she gets older.

My sister has jet black hair, and her baby's dad is very blond. Her baby has dark brown hair - so right in between.

Look at Angelina and Brad pitts baby she is very blonde and her mother so dark haired, that's right now of course.

If I have blond hair and my partner has dark brown hair, what colour hair is my baby likely to have?

my husband has dark brown hair and i have blonde hair and my son came out blonde and is now so who ever says brown is more dominat is wrong it all depends on the genes are stronger

If I have blond hair and my partner has dark brown hair, what colour hair is my baby likely to have?

I don't think you can predict 100% correctly a baby's hair color unless you live in a country like China or Japan where the hair color is always the same.

A cousin of mine had a baby girl with light red hair, but neither he nor his wife have that color hair.

If I have blond hair and my partner has dark brown hair, what colour hair is my baby likely to have?

I have naturally blonde hair and my husband has light brown hair.. Our baby came with a head full of dark brown hair.. But it is gradually thinning out and getting lighter and lighter each week it seems like.
