Geni, it appears that the dude is trying to get your attention and is simply unsure as to why. i'd say that he indeed likes you. What i would recommend is next time he pokes you in the butt, turn around at him with a scowl on your face, and wait, scowling, to see if he stops grinning like an idiot (especially an "oops i upset you" face is what your looking for). If he does, then take a pause and quickly wink at him and turn away again. Then ignore him. Wait for him to approach with a more serious attitude. Like a "i was wondering what you were doing friday" sort of attitude. If you can't make him look guilty, he's just a jerk who likes poking people with pencils.

P.S. acne-free is not for me. I like popping a girl's pimples like bubble wrap.
