i used sun in last july, and it says to wait at least 4 months before dying hair. it has been 6 months, so i'm just wondering if there are multiple steps i should take before attempting to dye my hair or if i should have it done professionally? i do not want to be blonde much longer.
I want to go from very light sandy blonde to a nice dark brown hair color. how do i do this?
You should probably go to a Salon and get it professionally done. They usually know how to do that stuff very well. Trust me, they can take someone with black hair and dye it blonde! Just call up your local Salon and set an appointment up and ask them everything you want. It usually only costs $20.

I would recommend going to a professional.
sometimes out of the store box colors turn blonde hair funny colors (gray, red)
either that or talk to a hair stylist before buying the color so they can tell you what to look for.

oh my ! if you have to color your hair, please go to a health store and get all natural/organic........please don't poison your skin and brain with all the chemicals they insist on putting in the hair colors. Please do your research first. Good luck and stay healthy !

Sun-In is a PERMANENT metallic dye; it actually deposits tiny metal flakes in the cuticle layer. When they say 'four months' they are expecting it will be cut out in that amount of time. In theory, sure- but if your hair is more than two inches long and you haven't cut it off, it's still there. This can be very detrimental as the metal reacts with anything you put on top of it. I suggest you see a stylist, tell them you have Sun-In in your hair, and have them do a strand test using a deposit only, no-ammonia color. Depending on how it reacts, you may be able to go ahead and color it.
